Master of Philosophy In Political Science (M.Phil)


Political science involves the study of the political behavior, system and the political structure of the country or an organization. It is a very broad field which incorporates the study of historical and modern systems, governmental policies and procedures, foreign policies, public administration, international relations and public affairs. It is a social science that involves the study of governmental systems and general principles that govern the world of politics.Political Science deals with the forces which govern states policies. The M.Phil Political Science is a two year academic programme which is focused to analyze the nation-states, political ideas and constitutional systems and world at large in a historic perspective that constitutes the world. It helps to understand the world and plans for future policies of nation-states. Since education, jobs, lifestyle, remittances and taxes are all influenced by political decisions of the policy makers; therefore, there is a dire need to study political science to comprehend political decisions that affect the policy making process, policy framework and political, social and economic life of the citizens. M.Phil Political Science is an excellent programme tailored for students interested in learning how governments are formed, laws are enacted, elections are held, constitutions are frames, how state and its functionaries work, coordination between three branches of the government, i.e., legislature, executive and judiciary, management of public institutions and public finance, and other aspects of the state and government as well as governance and public policies.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. M.A/M.Sc/BS or equivalent 16 year of education in Political Science, IR, Governance & Public Policy, History, Sociology, Media Studies/Mass Communication, Economics, Peace & Conflict Studies, Defense & Strategic Studies (or any other related qualification)
