International Relations are characterized by high degree of interaction and interdependence in the contemporary world. A nation-state cannot stay in isolation all alone and thus require to foster fraternal relations with other states of the world. The modern world introduced the concept of global village which has integrated all nation-states of the world through a nexus of communication, trade, cultural exchange and bilateral relations. After the WWII and Cold War, the world has witnessed the miseries inflicted by terrorism, extremism, civil war, arms race, economic meltdown, regional conflicts, territorial conflicts, neo-colonialism, bipolarity, chemical warfare, drug cartel, cross-border attacks, space militarization, human trafficking, famine, draught, climate change etc. The B.S in International relations degree programme has been designed with the intention to explore hardcore issues prevalent in the arena of international politics in the twenty first (21st) century and put forward feasible solutions to address these conundrums. It further explores the evolution, meaning, approaches, theories and major concepts of international relations. This degree programme has been framed to diversify the understanding of its graduates in all major aspects of international relations including the prominent areas of concentrations.

Educational Objectives of BS 4 Year Integrated Programme:

Main purpose of the programme of BS 4-Year in International Relations is to prepare graduates having a deep knowledge of the subject as well as ability to analyze any given situation and draw out conclusions. The syllable of the subject is designed by keeping in view the following objectives.

  • The graduates passed under this program would possess a sound knowledge of the subject.
  • Besides having the knowledge of the subject, the students would have also acquired a broader understanding of other disciplines of social as well as physical sciences. It will enable the students to interact with other branches of knowledge and strengthen their understanding of the society.
  • The graduates shall be equipped with the essential tools and techniques of research. It will enable them to analyze any given situation/issue and suggest its possible solutions.
  • Upon completion of this programme, the graduates will be empowered to establish and develop a viable and forceful link between theory/concepts and practice in the field for its proper implementation and utilization by the students, scholars, policy-makers and planners.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • F.A/F.Sc/DBA/D.Com or equivalent 12 year of education
  • 60% marks in F.A/F.Sc/DBA/D.Com or equivalent qualification

Ineligibility:

  • Rusticated/expelled from a University for misconduct
  • Involved in offence of moral turpitude
  • Currently enrolled in an academic programme in other College/University
